The IST9 series (10–20kVA) is a 19″ rack-mounted three-phase online UPS by AEC, compact (only 3U), featuring 3-level IGBT technology, up to 97% efficiency, and a unity power factor. Configurable as 1|1, 3|1, or 3|3 from the display, it includes a distribution module and manual bypass.

AEC’s IST6 modular UPS (30-1200kVA) offer hot-swappable modules, high efficiency (up to 97%) and constant redundancy. Expandable up to 2.4MW, they are ideal for medium to large data centers and available in six configurations. They provide flexibility, management from display, high overload and easy maintenance with self-cleaning function.

Rack Online UPS | Double Conversion

A double conversion online UPS takes alternating current (AC) input, converts it to direct current (DC), sends it to the battery, and then reconverts it back to AC to power the connected device. In online UPS systems, the batteries are always connected to the inverter, and in case of a voltage drop or blackout, the converter disconnects from the circuit and the batteries take over, maintaining stable and fluctuation-free power supply.

Modular UPS with hot-swappable modules

The most advanced uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) feature modular technology, composed of hot-swappable, redundant modules. This fully modular technology ensures constant redundancy of the continuity system and, thanks to the possibility of future expansion, reduces the total cost of ownership. With its flexible modularity offering perfect and risk-free power scalability, modular technology is the ideal solution for unplanned system upgrades or gradual power increases. Installed power can be increased by adding hot-swap power modules in incremental steps.

CPSS EN50171

A Central Power Supply System (CPSS), also known as an electric emergency power supply, differs from a standard UPS because it has specific characteristics. A CPSS is used to power emergency systems, primarily for safety lighting in public and private buildings, but also for automatic fire suppression systems, smoke extraction equipment, alarms, and carbon monoxide detection systems. In Europe, there is a standard that lists all the requirements a CPSS must meet to be used. This standard is EN 50171 “Central Power Supply Systems,” which, in addition to setting the necessary requirements, also outlines the possible configurations that can be applied to CPSS units.
